How can I get a foreclosure off of my credit report?

In my divorce agreement, my ex was clearly and solely responsible for mortgage payments. He didn't pay and we lost our home of 17 years. My name was also on mortgage, but agreement proves it was his responsibility. My credit has suffered severely. Can I do anything? Can't get loans for daughter's education. Credit cards up to 36% interest. It is choking me! Awful situation! Trapped! What can I do?

Your Open Question: Does it make sense to continue to pay credit card debt when going through foreclosure?

My husband and I are currently going through a foreclosure on our home. We have 2 credit cards and are wondering if we should even bother to continue paying them since we know our credit is going to tank very soon and very fast. We just don't see the point in paying them off since our credit is about to take a huge hit for the next 7 or so years or should we let the credit card debt go down with the foreclosure?
