Is grace period different from billing period?
I'm thinking about opening a student credit card. (please no answers on how I shouldn't get one) and I am reading over the terms and conditions. It states that the grace period for the Citi Student card is 20 days. Does that mean that I get my bill after 20days? Or, is it the standard 30 days like any other credit card? If the grace period is different, what is it? Thanks!

Why is Citi asking for my Social Secuirty Card?
I applied for a student card, and have no credit to speak of. Citi sent me a letter back saying that they could not take the application process any further until I send them a copy of my social security card.
I called to make sure that this was right.. and spoke with two people who when I asked why, they said it was the only way to continue the application process, no real reason.
A friend of mine also has a citi student card, but never had to do this, so I wanted to know what the reasoning could be behind it, and also if it is safe to send this information.
Note, they already have my social number, what they want is a copy of the card.

Is getting 3 secured credit cards a good idea to rebuild my credit?
Here is my situation. I just recently paid off all of my credit card debt and the only debt I have is a student loan I'm paying off, which I have never been late on.
I already have 1 Orchard Secured Mastercard and my credit score is already improving (it went up by 14 points this month). I'm thinking about expediting this by getting 2 more of the same card and using all 3 once a month to buy small things like car gas and chapstick and then pay it off.
Will getting all these cards in such a short time frame hurt my score, or will my idea of trying to rebuild credit quicker work?
I make enough to pay off the minimum, even If I had 3 cards. Only reason I was in the hole was because I was 17 years old and could not get a long-lasting job. I'm in the military now, so that is no longer an issue.
And why would I need a brokerage account? That sounds completely useless for what I'm trying to do.

College Student in Credit Card debt?
Hello,
I am a sophomore in college, my school is paid for by my parents, but I ended up getting into about $ 2500 of credit card debt. I go to school four times a week. I also work about 12 hours a week in a restaurant. Every two weeks I put about the $ 200 that I made towards the debt(the minimum payment is usually around $ 50, so I'm putting more then enough). Although I still have to use my C.C. because when I put my work money towards the C.C., I'm left with nothing. I only spend about $ 100 a month, because I have realized I cannot continue to get into debt. I am hoping to a get a full time job this summer to pay it all off! Any advice from anyone who has gone through the same situation. It just really sucks how I have to pay all this interest, I believe the interest rate on my card is 3%, which is not bad.
I cannot increase my hours.

How can I get the best settlement offer from an old credit card that has gone to collections?
I'm 26 now and when I was a dumb, 19-year-old college student, I got a Chase credit card with a $ 2,800 limit. I maxed it out and couldn't make payments, so I just stopped paying and ceased contact with them. Yeah..Really dumb move. A collections company finally threatened wage garnishment about a year-and-a-half ago. By that time, the balance was up to more than $ 8,000 with fees and interest. I was scared and started making payments of $ 175. I've paid a total of $ 2,800 since then (the amount I actually put on the card). They're offering me a $ 4,000 settlement on the remaining balance, which I know is not a good offer, because with the $ 2,800 I've already paid that would mean I would have given them almost the full amount. FYI, I have virtually nothing saved have a take-home income of about $ 2,500 a month. What should I offer them? How can I get the best settlement offer? Does anyone know of a ballpark amount that they will accept? I realize I got myself into this situation by being extremely irresponsible. Now I am just trying to get myself out of this hole.

How can you get into a home without any money down, bad credit and substancial debt?
I have been in and out of the hospital and am unable to work , my husband makes over $ 55,000 a year but we are a family of 5 crammed into a 2 bedroom apt. He has student loans and bad credit from divorce. He had a home from his previous marriage, but I have never been a home owner. The question is how can we get out of this hole we are in and start moving on with our life? Iwant to try to be in a home b4 my 3 yr old son starts school.. because the schools where I currently live are unsatisfactory. we currently pay $ 650 a month in rent .. which is more than most of my friends house payments so I am wondering how do I get started trying to improve our situation and get into a home .. with $ 1,000 in debt each month and no way to possibly save for a down payment of any kind. We have paid our rent every month, that is one thing we do make sure gets paid . have been in and out of the hospital and am unable to work , though we have not asked or have been receiving any assistance what so ever. My conditions include spinal bone growths, organ failure and chronic pain , which makes it difficult to just care for my son and my 2 step sons (which are all under the age of 12), Since my doctors have told me I am physically unable to work right now options for going back to work are not really there. My husband works 12 hour days at his job, that he has held for over 7 years. We have 1 car( that is paid off). Our rent of $ 650 a month that we do pay does not include our utlities or anything else. Our phone bills, electric, cable, water all get paid as well and we have a good payment history with them as well. Our credit debt includes :my husbands government student loans, credit cards from his previous marriage, and one month of car insurance not paid by me after I went into the hospital.
we are looking for a home in the $ 50-$ 100k price range .. so that we can make our payments.

CapitalOne Journey Credit Card?
So I applied and I got approved. This is like a regular credit card right? But for students?
Also, does this help me raise my credit score (considering I pay off my payments, which I will).
I got denied a MasterCard for students, and I really need something that will help me raise my credit score. Ya know?
So please tell me if I did right.
I mean, I plan to spend only a little with it and then pay it off right away each month so I dont have to worry about extra fees and what not. I'm pretty new to this, and the Journey card seems to be friendly to help out students.

Apparently I get paid Tuesday...Is it possible for me to withdraw cash from my student visa card, and then pay it right off on Tuesday? It's about $ 300, I know it's much so would I get a crazy interested charge within 2 days?
